Is life feeling Chaotic? Today I am sharing with you my top ten EASY tips to create more clam

In today’s busy world it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Everything is so busy, fast-paced how do we keep up?

Rather than try to keep up my advice is to slow down. By learning to slow down we are teaching our bodies how to relax and by doing this we are much more likely to be able to cope with those stressful situations when they occur. So slow down and reap the mental, emotional and physical benefits of doing so. Here are my top 10 tips for slowing down and creating calm, even when everything around you feels out of control.

Read

It’s easy today to forget the simple pleasure that reading brings, it really is the perfect relaxing tool. Taking timeout to read allows you to escape everything that’s going on around you and keeps you in the moment. Give it a try. You might be surprised how easy it is to block out the bickering of children when your attention is focused elsewhere. If sitting reading doesn’t appeal to you, you could try audible so you could listen while you walk or fold the laundry.

Take a bath

There is something quite blissful about laying in warm soothing water. It really helps your muscles to relax and you to stay focused on the physical experience. If you have a lock on the bathroom door be sure to lock yourself away so you can enjoy your dip without an audience. Ad Epsom slats and or essential oils for an extra indulgence.

Go for a walk

Gentle exercise is great for your mind body and soul. Connecting in with nature helps you to feel more grounded and connected to the Earth. If you have little people at home take them with you too, you will all benefit from a good stretch and some exercise. Even is the weathers bad, wrap up warm and get outside. It’s good for us all.

Connect with others

If you are feeling overwhelmed sometimes a good old chat with your bestie or an understanding family member can make you feel so much better. It needs to be someone who you can completely be yourself with so you can relax and just chat. We are naturally social beings so a little social interaction goes a long way towards soothing your soul.

Escape

If the monotony of life feels like it’s getting you down plan your escape. Identify a time when you can leave everyone at home and you can do something just for yourself. It doesn’t have to be anything big. It can be something as small as taking yourself out for a coffee but sometimes escaping for a few hours is all you need to restore your calm.

Call in the troops

If you really feel like you are drowning don’t be afraid to ask for help. Most people have some sort of support available but often you insist on struggling on. If it feels like its too much and the ships in danger of sinking call in those that care and ask them to do some jobs for you. Most people will help willingly no-one wants you to feel like you are failing.

Sleep

I find my darkest days are when I am sleep deprived. The world feels like a darker place when you need to sleep. It’s hard to be calm and centred when you are running on a few hours sleep. So when you can factor in an early night. Everyone including you will thank you for it.

Delegate

Often there is an organiser in each house. Someone who makes sure there is food in the cupboards and the bills are paid. If that’s you remember you don’t need to do it all. Delegate out to others including the kids if they are old enough. Get everyone contributing to running the home. That should lighten your load, and free up some brain space.

Plan

Planning sounds so boring and uninspiring but trust me it can be a game changer. Simple things like planning your meals can really help reduce your workload. Knowing what you are making means you can make sure you have what you need. No more scratching around at the last minute looking for food inspiration. Try it and see.

Finally, have fun!!

Love and laughter are two of life’s best medicines. Leave all your worries and chores behind and go out and have fun. All too often we tell ourselves we’ve got to do certain things when really we don’t. So if you are feeling in a funk go do something you enjoy, chores can wait.

I hope you find this useful and that there is something in here that will inspire you to be calmer.

Love from above,
